Trunk comparison: Audi A6 Sedan vs Tesla Model Y

Key Differences (only >10% highlighted)
The most noticeable difference is the height of the trunk opening: the Tesla Model Y has a 7.5 in (≈38%) higher opening than the Audi A6. Another major difference is the trunk depth (measured from the loading edge to the trunk floor): the Audi A6 is 4.7 in (≈1100%) deeper here than the Model Y.
Impact on Usability
The higher opening of the Model Y means that taller or bulky items can be more easily loaded and unloaded vertically — for example, furniture pieces or boxes limited by height. Additionally, the larger opening makes it easier to slide in bulky parts without edge contact.
The significantly greater depth of the Audi A6, on the other hand, provides more usable interior space below the loading edge: flat-lying, long, or low-stackable items can be better stored and remain deeper in the cargo area, which can improve load securing and the center of gravity.
At the same time, a deeper loading floor also means that heavy items must be lifted further down or pulled in and out, which can make handling more difficult.
The other differences (length and width values around 1–7% as well as a 1.6 in higher loading edge on the Model Y) are significantly smaller and usually have only minor effects in everyday use: slightly more or less length/width rarely decisively affects packability, and a loading edge a few centimeters higher increases the effort when lifting but is not a fundamental usability factor compared to the large differences mentioned above.
