Main Differences (Values >10% Highlighted)

The BMW iX1 offers a significantly longer cargo floor in the trunk with the first row of seats upright: +5.1 in (≈+17%) compared to the Jeep Renegade. Additionally, the width of the trunk opening is larger in the iX1: +4.3 in (≈+11%).

In contrast, the Jeep Renegade has a noticeably higher trunk opening: +6.7 in (≈+24%), and the depth from the loading edge level to the trunk floor is significantly greater in the Renegade: +4.7 in (≈+600%).

What Are the Practical Implications?

Due to the longer cargo floor of the iX1 with the first row of seats upright, the iX1 is better suited for transporting longer items when the front seats cannot be folded forward (e.g., skis, long boxes).

The wider trunk opening in the iX1 makes it easier to slide in wider items and reduces issues when fitting bulky loads.

The significantly higher trunk opening point and much greater interior "depth" of the Renegade mean it better accommodates items that require vertical space: tall objects stand more easily in the space, and loaded cargo lies deeper in the vehicle (better protected and less visible from outside).

However, the greater depth can make placing very heavy items more difficult because they must be lowered further; additionally, a deep recess reduces the practical, flat loading surface for flat-lying cargo.

Other smaller differences (e.g., about +6% longer trunk with folded seats favoring the iX1, +6% higher loading edge on the Renegade, +4% narrower bottleneck on the Renegade) exist but have less impact on everyday usability.

In short: for elongated and wide cargo in daily use, the BMW iX1 is advantageous; for taller, bulky, or "recessed" cargo in the trunk, the Jeep Renegade is better suited.
