Trunk comparison: Citroen C3 vs Skoda Elroq

Comparison of trunk dimensions for the Citroen C3 and Skoda Elroq

Key Differences

The Škoda Elroq offers a significantly longer trunk: +12.2 in (23%) with the rear seats folded down and +5.1 in (19%) with the front seats upright compared to the Citroën C3. The trunk opening of the Elroq is also noticeably wider: +5.9 in (17%).

In contrast, the Citroën C3 shows a very large difference in trunk depth: the distance between the loading edge and the trunk floor is +8.7 in (2200%) greater than in the Elroq. The loading edge of the C3 is also +3.5 in (13%) higher above the ground.

Implications for Usability

Practically, this means: the Elroq is better suited for everyday use when it comes to the length and width of the cargo.

The longer interior dimensions (with seats folded or upright) and the wider opening make it easier to store long or wide items (e.g., furniture parts, sports equipment, larger suitcases) and reduce maneuvering when loading.

The C3 offers more "vertical space" below the loading edge due to the greater depth between the loading edge and the trunk floor; this can be useful when items need to be sunk deep into the cargo area or when luggage is partially stored and concealed.

However, combined with the higher loading edge (+3.5 in), lifting heavy loads into the C3 is more strenuous: heavy or bulky goods must be lifted higher.

Small differences such as the slightly higher trunk opening of the C3 (+1.2 in / 4%) or the minimally greater width of the Elroq at its narrowest point (+1.6 in / 4%) are hardly noticeable in everyday use.

In summary: for long and wide cargo or frequent loading of large items, the Škoda Elroq is the more practical choice; those who prefer lower storage space and a concealed cargo area will find advantages in the Citroën C3 but must accept a higher loading edge.
