Trunk dimensions – key differences

The Dacia Jogger offers significantly more cargo space in length and height: with the seats folded down, the Jogger's trunk is 7.5 in (≈12%) longer, and with the first row of seats upright, even 11.8 in (≈35%) longer than the Renault Austral.

The height of the trunk opening is also higher in the Jogger: +7.5 in (≈26%).

At the narrowest point, the loading width of the Jogger is 8.7 in (≈22%) greater. The depth of the trunk (loading edge to floor) is the same in both models.

However, the loading edge of the Austral sits 4.7 in (≈18%) higher above the road than in the Jogger. The width of the trunk opening is slightly larger in the Austral (+9%, not highlighted).

Implications for usability

More length and greater narrow width in the Jogger mean a clear advantage when transporting long and bulky items (e.g., slats, furniture parts, bicycles without front wheel) as well as for flexible family or commercial use.

The significantly higher trunk opening makes loading tall items easier and allows for more vertical clearance. Because the loading edge of the Jogger is lower, lifting heavy items into the trunk is easier.

Although the Austral has a slightly wider trunk opening, this difference is small and less noticeable in practice. The higher loading edge of the Austral, on the other hand, makes loading heavy loads more difficult and frequent lifting more tiring.

Overall, the Jogger is the more practical choice if long, tall, or bulky cargo is regularly transported; the Austral does not offer comparable advantages in cargo capacity.
