Trunk comparison: Hyundai i10 vs Skoda Elroq

Comparison of trunk dimensions for the Hyundai i10 and Skoda Elroq

Key Differences

The Škoda Elroq offers significantly more length in cargo volume: with the seats folded down, the trunk of the Elroq is 19.3 in (42%) longer than that of the Hyundai i10, and with the first row of seats upright, it is 13 in (70%) longer.

The width of the trunk opening is 5.1 in (14%) larger on the Elroq, which makes loading wider items easier.

In contrast, the Hyundai i10 has a significantly greater trunk depth (loading edge to trunk floor) – 6.7 in (1700%) more than the Elroq.

Smaller differences: the height of the i10’s trunk opening is 2.4 in (8%) larger, the loading edge of the i10 is 0.4 in (1%) higher above the road, and the narrowest width inside the trunk is 1.2 in (3%) larger on the i10.

What Are the Practical Implications?

The greater loading length of the Elroq clearly makes it better suited for long or bulky items (e.g., furniture parts, long sports equipment, slatted frames, or multiple suitcases lined up). The wider opening also facilitates loading and unloading wide cargo, as bulky items need to be angled less often.

The significantly greater trunk depth of the i10 means the cargo space is deeper below the loading edge. Practically, this means smaller and loose items can be better “recessed” and are less visible or prone to shifting.

However, when transporting flat, long items, the i10 is less flexible – long items are more likely to hit the rear seats, and handling when lifting in or pulling out can be more strenuous. For frequent transport of wide or long items, the Elroq is overall more practical.

The smaller differences (opening height +2.4 in, loading edge height +0.4 in, narrowest width +1.2 in) have little impact on everyday usability: the +2.4 in opening height of the i10 provides slightly more vertical space, the slightly higher loading edge makes loading marginally more difficult, and the slightly greater interior width of the i10 is hardly decisive in practice compared to the significantly larger opening width of the Elroq.
