Key Differences

The Mercedes‑Benz GLC offers a 16.9 in (33%) longer cargo length with the seats folded down than the Opel Corsa and a 10.6 in (41%) longer trunk depth with the first row of seats upright.

The narrowest width of the trunk in the GLC is 5.5 in (15%) larger, and the trunk opening of the GLC is 9.4 in (28%) wider than that of the Corsa. Conversely, the Opel Corsa has a significantly deeper trunk well: the depth (loading edge to trunk floor) is 7.1 in (1700%) higher in the Corsa than in the GLC.

Smaller differences under 10% and therefore less relevant: The trunk opening of the GLC is only 1.2 in (4%) higher, and the loading edge of the GLC is 0.4 in (1%) higher above the road surface.

Impact on Usability

Due to the significantly greater length (both with seats folded and with the first row upright) and greater width (both at the narrowest point and at the opening), the GLC is better suited for transporting long and wide items: furniture parts, long packages, strollers, or skis can be more easily accommodated in the GLC and generally loaded and unloaded more easily through the wider opening.

The wider opening reduces maneuvering needed when turning and handling bulky cargo.

The deeper trunk floor in the Opel Corsa, on the other hand, creates more "depth" below the loading edge, which can provide additional storage space for tall but not very wide items.

However, this deep well increases the effort required to lift heavy items in and out and can make loading bulky, flat items more difficult because the effective pass-through height is lower.

The very small differences in opening height (+1.2 in) and loading edge height (+0.4 in) are hardly noticeable in practice and have little impact on everyday usability.
