Key Differences and Impact on Usability

The Mercedes‑Benz GLE offers significantly more cargo length: with the seats folded down, the trunk is 10.6 in (+16%) longer and with the first row upright, 9.8 in (+31%) longer than the Škoda Elroq.

This practically means: the GLE can transport much longer items (e.g., furniture parts, long sports equipment) and with the same seating configuration, accommodate more luggage or bulky cargo without folding down seats.

The loading edge of the GLE is 3.1 in (+12%) higher above the road, which has two effects: on one hand, better ground clearance and lower risk of scraping the underbody; on the other hand, the higher loading edge makes lifting heavy items during loading and unloading more difficult compared to the lower Elroq.

Other differences are less pronounced: the trunk opening of the GLE is 2 in (+7%) higher and the width at the narrowest point and at the opening is only 5–2.8 in larger — these advantages are noticeable but not as decisive as the longer cargo length and higher loading edge.

The slightly greater depth in the Elroq (+0.4 in) is negligible. Overall, the GLE is especially better suited for users with frequent long or bulky loads; the Elroq remains more practical for frequent handling of heavy items due to the lower loading edge.
