Comparison of trunk dimensions for the Opel Corsa and Skoda Karoq

Key Differences

The Škoda Karoq has clear advantages in the key dimensions: the cargo area is 9.4 in (18%) longer with the seats folded down and 3.9 in (15%) longer with the first row of seats upright compared to the Opel Corsa.

The opening of the Karoq is significantly more favorable for loading: the height of the trunk opening is 7.5 in (26%) higher and the width of the trunk opening is 7.1 in (21%) wider than in the Corsa.

The only notable advantage of the Corsa is the greater depth between the loading edge and the trunk floor: this is 1.2 in (20%) larger in the Corsa.

Impact on Usability

Due to the greater length (both with folded seats and with the rear bench upright) and the significantly higher/wider trunk opening, the Karoq is better suited for long or bulky items (e.g., furniture parts, long sports equipment, boxes during a move) and for easily loading large suitcases or containers.

The higher opening makes it easier to place tall items and reduces bumping when lifting. The larger opening width also means that wide loads fit practically without problems, even though the interior width at the narrowest point is only minimally larger.

The Opel Corsa primarily scores with the greater depth between the loading edge and the trunk floor. This creates a somewhat deeper storage compartment immediately behind the loading edge, which can be useful for flat but tall stacks or for hiding trunk bags.

Overall, however, the Corsa offers significantly less length and a narrower, lower opening, making loading large items more cumbersome. The slightly higher loading edge above the road (only ~3%) has hardly any practical impact.

In short: Those who regularly transport long or bulky loads or value easy loading clearly benefit from the Škoda Karoq. For occasional city or everyday speed luggage with the advantage of a somewhat deeper storage compartment, the Opel Corsa can be sufficient.
