Comparison of trunk dimensions for the Peugeot 208 and Skoda Elroq

Main Differences

The Skoda Elroq offers a 14.2 in (27%) longer cargo floor with the seats folded down than the Peugeot 208. Even with the rear seats upright, the Elroq's trunk is 5.1 in (19%) longer. Additionally, the trunk opening of the Elroq is 6.7 in (20%) wider than that of the Peugeot.

In contrast, the Peugeot features a very pronounced depth between the loading edge and the trunk floor: this is 6.7 in (1700%) greater than in the Elroq.

Impact on Usability

The larger length dimensions and significantly wider opening of the Skoda Elroq make it more practical for long or bulky items (e.g., slats, skis, furniture parts) and facilitate loading large suitcases or longer cargo with the seats folded down. The wider opening also reduces maneuvering when sliding in large items.

The significantly greater depth in the Peugeot (loading edge → trunk floor) means the cargo floor sits lower.

This creates more "vertical" storage space below the loading edge and can secure smaller items more safely, but it is disadvantageous when loading bulky, heavy items: stronger lifting and angling movements are required, and sliding in heavy loads is more difficult.

Together with the only slightly higher loading edge compared to the Elroq, the Peugeot remains more advantageous for storing smaller, stackable, or recessed items, while the Elroq is the more practical choice for transporting long or bulky cargo.
