Key Differences

The SEAT Tarraco offers significantly more cargo length: with the seats folded down it is +15 in (26%) longer, and with the first row of seats upright it is +11.4 in (35%) longer than the SEAT Leon. At the narrowest point, the Tarraco is wider by +7.9 in (25%).

The Leon has a significantly greater depth (distance from loading edge to trunk floor) of +7.5 in (317%) compared to the Tarraco.

Smaller differences under 10% and thus less relevant in practice: the height of the Tarraco's trunk opening is +1.2 in (4%) higher, and the width of the trunk opening is +2.4 in (6%) larger. The loading edge itself is the same height on both models.

Implications for Usability

Due to the greater cargo length (both with folded and upright seats) and the greater narrow width, the Tarraco is better suited for long or bulky items (e.g., slats, skis, long furniture parts) as well as bulky luggage that requires more lateral space.

The larger interior dimensions make loading longer boxes or many suitcases easier and more flexible.

The significantly greater depth value in the Leon means more vertical volume below the loading edge. This can be useful for storing luggage deeper and out of sight or partially recessing bulky, tall items.

At the same time, a deeper trunk floor can make reaching heavier items more difficult and stacking flat, long loads less practical.

Since the loading edge and differences in opening height/width are minimal, both models differ little when loading and unloading over the threshold. For users who frequently transport long or wide-format cargo, the Tarraco is the more practical choice; those who need more deep storage space and concealed volume benefit more from the Leon.
