Trunk dimensions Chevrolet Bolt EV

The 2017 Opel Ampera-E offers a trunk with a volume of 13.5 cu ft, which increases to 45 cu ft when the rear seats are folded down. The rear bench is split 60:40, allowing flexibility in transport. The interior is designed with a modern look, focusing clearly on functionality and ergonomics.

The loading edge is relatively low, making loading easier. Within the model range, the trunk dimensions vary little, as the Ampera-E is designed as a compact electric vehicle. Typical features include the practical shape of the trunk and the thoughtful layout, which enables good use of the available space.

Model Information

The Opel Ampera-E is a fully electric vehicle characterized by its high efficiency and range. With a clear focus on sustainability and modern design, the Ampera-E offers a combination of functionality and driving pleasure.

The hatchback design allows for an aerodynamic shape that contributes to energy efficiency. The latest series of the Ampera-E is equipped with advanced technology, including an intuitive infotainment system and numerous safety features.

Variants of the Same Series

The Opel Ampera-E is mainly offered as a hatchback. There are no other variants such as sedan or convertible within this model range that could potentially cause confusion. The clear focus on the hatchback design makes the Ampera-E unique in its class.

Trunk Volume

The trunk of the Opel Ampera-E offers a volume of about 13.5 cu ft, which is remarkable for an electric vehicle of this size. The loading area is well usable and allows luggage or shopping to be stored easily.

Additionally, the rear seat can be folded down to create additional cargo space, significantly expanding transport options. The practical shape of the trunk facilitates loading and unloading.

Yearly Differences

The Opel Ampera-E has been continuously developed since its introduction in 2016. Significant changes affecting the body dimensions and trunk measurements were made in the 2017 and 2019 model years.

These changes mainly concerned the interior design and optimization of the trunk to allow better use of the available space.

Direct Competitors

In the same price class and size, models like the Nissan Leaf and Hyundai Kona Electric are direct competitors of the Opel Ampera-E.

The Nissan Leaf offers a trunk volume of about 15.4 cu ft, while the Hyundai Kona Electric provides slightly less cargo space at approximately 12.7 cu ft. These differences can be decisive for buyers who value trunk volume.

More Affordable Alternatives

More affordable models with similar trunk dimensions include the Dacia Spring Electric and the Renault Zoe.

The Dacia Spring offers a trunk volume of about 10.2 cu ft, which is significantly smaller, while the Renault Zoe has about 13.7 cu ft, a comparable size to the Ampera-E. These alternatives are generally cheaper but may not offer the same range or equipment as the Ampera-E.
