Trunk dimensions Opel Tigra TwinTop

The 2008 Opel Tigra TwinTop offers a trunk with a volume of about 8.8 cu ft, which can be expanded up to 15.5 cu ft when the rear seats are folded down. The rear bench is split 50:50, allowing flexible use of the interior space. The interior design is sporty, with functional but limited storage space.

Trunk dimensions vary within the model range, with the shape generally described as compact and the loading edge as relatively high.

Practicality is given, but access is limited due to the convertible design. Overall, the Tigra TwinTop offers an appealing combination of style and functionality, though space for larger luggage is limited.

Model Information

The Opel Tigra TwinTop is a compact convertible that was first introduced in 2004. It combines the advantages of an open vehicle with the functionality of a coupe.

The latest series offers an attractive design, comfortable interior, and modern technology. The TwinTop is known for its electric folding roof, which can be opened or closed in seconds, enhancing driving enjoyment in various weather conditions.

Variants of the Same Series

The Opel Tigra TwinTop is designed as a convertible and thus differs from other Opel models such as sedans or wagons.

There are no other Tigra variants that could be confused with the TwinTop, as the focus is on the convertible design. Clear differentiation from other Opel models is important to avoid misunderstandings.

Trunk Volume

The trunk of the Opel Tigra TwinTop offers a volume of about 15.5 cu ft when the roof is closed. This is relatively generous for a convertible of this size and allows storage of luggage for short trips or shopping.

When the roof is open, the trunk volume reduces to about 8.8 cu ft, which still provides enough space for smaller items. The trunk opening is well sized, making loading easier. Additionally, the rear seats are not foldable, which limits transport options compared to other vehicles.

Yearly Differences

The Opel Tigra TwinTop was only slightly modified during its production from 2004 to 2009. Significant changes to body dimensions and trunk volume did not occur.

The dimensions remained constant throughout the production period, ensuring consistent trunk usage. Minor updates mainly affected equipment and engines, but not the basic vehicle measurements.

Direct Competition

In the same price range and size, there are several comparable models such as the Peugeot 207 CC and the Renault Mégane CC. The Peugeot 207 CC offers a trunk volume of about 16.1 cu ft with the roof closed, making it somewhat roomier than the Tigra.

The Renault Mégane CC, on the other hand, has a volume of about 14.7 cu ft, making it less practical compared to the Tigra. These differences are crucial for buyers who value trunk volume.

More Affordable Alternatives

For buyers looking for more affordable alternatives with similar trunk dimensions, models like the Fiat 500C or the Ford Ka might be considered. The Fiat 500C offers a trunk volume of about 6.5 cu ft, which is significantly smaller than the Tigra.

The Ford Ka also has a limited trunk volume of about 7.9 cu ft. These models are cheaper but do not offer the same cargo capacity as the Opel Tigra TwinTop.
