Trunk dimensions Škoda Superb

The trunk of the Skoda Superb sedan 2024 offers a volume of about 22.1 cu ft, which can be expanded up to 62.2 cu ft when the rear seats are folded down.

The rear bench is split 60:40, allowing flexibility when transporting larger items. The interior design is functional and high-quality, with a low loading edge that makes loading easier.

The trunk dimensions vary slightly within the model range but generally remain generous and practical. Typical features include the rectangular shape and good accessibility, making the Superb one of the most spacious vehicles in its class.

Model Information

The Skoda Superb is a mid-size vehicle known for its generous space and good value for money. The latest series of the Superb, available since 2023, offers a combination of modern design, advanced technology, and high functionality.

The sedan features an elegant silhouette and a comfortable interior suitable for both daily use and longer trips.

Variants of the Same Series

The Skoda Superb is available in several variants, including the sedan and the wagon. The sedan offers a sporty line, while the wagon provides additional storage space and flexibility.

It is important not to confuse these two variants, as they have different characteristics and trunk volumes. The wagon usually has a larger cargo space, making it more attractive for families and frequent travelers.

Yearly Differences

Model changes affecting body and trunk dimensions mainly occurred between the 2015 and 2023 model years. The current generation has improved aerodynamics and optimized interior design, enhancing both comfort and trunk functionality. Earlier models had smaller trunk volumes and less thoughtful storage solutions.

Direct Competitors

Direct competitors of the Skoda Superb sedan include models like the Volkswagen Passat and the Ford Mondeo. The Passat offers a similar trunk volume of about 20.7 cu ft, while the Mondeo provides slightly less cargo space at around 19.1 cu ft. These differences can be decisive for buyers who prioritize maximum space.

More Affordable Alternatives

More affordable alternatives with similar trunk dimensions include the Dacia Logan MCV and the Kia Ceed wagon. The Dacia Logan MCV offers a trunk volume of about 20.2 cu ft, while the Kia Ceed wagon is comparable with about 22.1 cu ft.

These models offer a good combination of price and functionality but generally lack the same comfort and features as the Skoda Superb.

Trunk Volume

The Skoda Superb sedan 2024 offers an exceptionally large cargo compartment. Key figures at a glance: Manufacturer specification: 22.8 cu ft, independent measurements: 19.8 cu ft, with an average value given in the fact package of ≈ 21.3 cu ft. This is about 43.45% more volume than an average car.

With the rear seats folded down, significantly larger values result: up to the window sill approx. 36.2 cu ft (independent), and roof-high approx. 54.6 cu ft (independent; manufacturer: 63.4 cu ft).

Removing the cargo cover and loading up to the rear window increases the volume to about 23.7 cu ft (practical figure) – enough space for, for example, eleven beverage crates.

Relative to the vehicle volume, the trunk accounts for about 9% of the total car volume (≈ +2.6 percentage points compared to average); roof-high with folded rear seats it is 24.8% (≈ +3 percentage points).

Vehicle Size and Parking Friendliness

Dimensions: 193.3 in long, 72.8 in wide, 58.3 in high. Compared to an average car, the Superb is 13.8 in longer (≈ +7.7%), practically the same width, and slightly lower (-5.3%).

Despite its length, the sedan fits into normal parking spaces: according to the fact package, the vehicle is 3.5 in shorter and 25.6 in narrower than a standard parking space, generally providing sufficient side and length clearance when parking.

In the city, however, the length requires somewhat more maneuvering effort and attention when turning.

Trunk Usability and Flexibility

The Superb scores not only with volume but also with thoughtful details: the tailgate opens wide (hatchback design), the tailgate is optionally electric or hands-free.

Practical features include: unlocking the rear seatbacks via lever from the trunk, automatically folding seatbacks, four bag hooks, a roughly 0.5 cu ft storage compartment under the loading floor, and additional compartments available in the transport package.

Practical limitations: The loading edge is relatively high at 28.3 in; additionally, there is a step of about 7.9 in between the loading edge and loading floor or between folded seatback and loading floor.

This complicates loading and unloading heavy or long items. Overall, however, the loading floor itself is smooth and well usable; lighting helps in the dark (two LEDs per side and in the tailgate).

Regarding payload: curb weight 1,559 kg, payload 541 kg. This means passengers plus luggage must stay within this limit (for example: four persons at 70 kg each would use about 280 kg, leaving about 261 kg for luggage and payload).

General Model Information

Reputation: The Superb is known for particularly generous space and practicality within the upper mid-size class. The cargo compartment is the largest among sedans in this class and competes with some wagons.

Special features and peculiarities: very large cargo volume, well usable loading opening thanks to hatchback design, unusually practical seat release from the trunk, numerous compartments, and good trunk lighting. Disadvantages are the high loading edge and the step created when folding down seats.

Value for money: Skoda traditionally positions the Superb as a very practical and well-equipped offering with high utility – especially attractive for buyers seeking lots of trunk and interior space at a reasonable price.

Competitor models (typical in the segment): Volkswagen Passat, Opel Insignia, Peugeot 508, Ford Mondeo / former Mondeo successor, as well as larger representatives from Hyundai/Kia. Compared to these, the Superb stands out mainly due to its trunk volume and everyday usability.
