Trunk dimensions Fiat 500c

The 2009 Fiat 500C offers a trunk with a volume of about 6.5 cu ft, increasing to approximately 19.4 cu ft when the rear seats are folded down. The rear bench is split 50:50, allowing flexibility in transporting luggage. The interior is compact and stylishly designed, focusing on retro elements.

The trunk dimensions vary slightly within the model range, but the shape remains consistently square, optimizing the use of space.

The loading edge is relatively high, which can make loading more difficult; however, the compact design provides a practical solution for city driving. Overall, the Fiat 500C's trunk is functional but limited, making it less suitable for larger transports.

Model Information

The Fiat 500C is the convertible variant of the popular Fiat 500, known for its charming retro look and compact design. The model combines stylish design with modern technologies and offers an open driving experience.

The Fiat 500C is ideal for city driving and short trips, while also considering some practical aspects for everyday use.

Variants of the Same Series

Within the Fiat 500 series, there are several variants differing in body style. Besides the convertible (500C), there is the sedan (500), which is the closed version of the model.

The hatchback variant is also available. These models differ in design, functionality, and trunk volume, which is important for buyers with specific requirements for their vehicle type.

Trunk Volume

The Fiat 500C's trunk offers a volume of about 6.5 cu ft. Compared to other vehicles in this class, this is rather limited but suitable for transporting groceries or smaller luggage.

The rear seats are foldable, providing additional transport options and expanding the cargo space. However, it should be noted that due to the convertible construction, the trunk does not offer the same capacity as sedans.

Yearly Differences

The Fiat 500C has been continuously updated since its introduction in 2009. Significant model changes affecting body dimensions and trunk volume occurred in 2015 with a facelift and in 2020 with the introduction of the new generation.

These changes led to slight adjustments in dimensions and interior design, which also influenced the trunk.

Direct Competition

In the same price class and size, the Fiat 500C competes among others with the Mini Cooper Convertible and the Peugeot 208. The Mini Cooper Convertible offers a trunk volume of about 7.6 cu ft, making it superior in this regard.

The Peugeot 208, on the other hand, has a trunk of about 11 cu ft, positioning it as more practical for daily use. These differences are crucial for buyers who value cargo space.

More Affordable Alternatives

More affordable models with similar trunk dimensions are the Citroën C1 and the Toyota Aygo. Both vehicles offer a trunk volume of about 6.9 cu ft, making them attractive alternatives for buyers seeking a compact car with acceptable cargo space.

These models are often cheaper to purchase and still offer some flexibility for everyday use.
