Trunk dimensions Jaguar I-PACE

The Jaguar I-Pace 2018 offers a trunk volume of about 23.2 cu ft with the rear seats upright and up to 51.3 cu ft with the seats folded down. The rear bench is split 40:20:40, allowing flexibility in transport. The interior is designed with high quality, focusing on functionality and modern design.

The trunk opening is generous, though the loading edge may be perceived as high by some users. Within the model range, the trunk dimensions do not vary significantly, underscoring the practicality of the I-Pace as an SUV.

Typical features include clear shaping and a well-thought-out arrangement of storage space that makes everyday life easier.

Model Information

The Jaguar I-Pace is a fully electric SUV that was first introduced in 2018. It combines sporty performance with elegant design and offers a range of up to 470 km (WLTP). The I-Pace is equipped with all-wheel drive and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds.

The interior is high-quality and offers state-of-the-art technology, including an infotainment system with touchscreen. The I-Pace exemplifies Jaguar's commitment to electromobility, combining sustainability with luxury.

Variants of the Same Series

The Jaguar I-Pace is offered exclusively as an SUV. There are no other variants such as sedans, convertibles, or wagons within this model series.

This distinguishes the I-Pace from other Jaguar models, which are available in various body styles. Buyers should be aware that the I-Pace holds a unique position in Jaguar's portfolio as the manufacturer's first fully electric vehicle.

Yearly Differences

The Jaguar I-Pace has been continuously updated since its launch in 2018. The main changes affecting body dimensions and trunk volume occurred in the 2020 and 2021 model years.

These updates included improvements in software and battery technology that increased the vehicle's efficiency and range but did not result in significant changes to the physical dimensions or trunk volume.

Direct Competitors

In the same price range and size as the Jaguar I-Pace are models like the Audi e-tron and the Mercedes-Benz EQC. The Audi e-tron offers a trunk volume of 23.3 cu ft, making it only slightly larger than the I-Pace.

The Mercedes-Benz EQC, on the other hand, has a trunk volume of 17.7 cu ft, making it smaller compared to the I-Pace. These differences can be decisive for buyers who value cargo space.

More Affordable Alternatives

For buyers looking for more affordable alternatives with similar trunk dimensions, models like the Kia e-Niro and Hyundai Kona Electric should be considered.

The Kia e-Niro offers a trunk volume of 15.9 cu ft, while the Hyundai Kona Electric has 11.7 cu ft. Both models are less expensive than the I-Pace but offer less cargo space, which may be a disadvantage for some buyers.

Trunk Volume

The Jaguar I‑PACE SUV (2018) has a stated trunk volume of 17.8 cu ft. This is about 20.24% larger than an average car and corresponds to approximately 7.3% of the total vehicle volume (LxWxH/2), which is 0.9 percentage points more than average.

Everyday impact: The volume comfortably accommodates large shopping trips, multiple shopping bags, or a short trip with two to three medium-sized suitcases.

For families with strollers or sports equipment, the space provides a good base; if significantly more cargo space is needed, the option to fold down the rear seats should be checked (not specified in the fact package).

Vehicle Size and Parking Friendliness

Exterior dimensions: 184.3 in length, 74.8 in width, 61.8 in height.

Comparison to average: The vehicle is 4.7 in longer (≈2.7%) and 2 in wider (≈2.4%) than an average car; height is practically the same.

Parking: According to the fact package, the I‑PACE is 12.6 in shorter and 24 in narrower than a standard parking space, so it fits in standard parking spots.

However, the width of 74.8 in can be noticeable in tight spaces or underground garages — opening doors and getting in or out may be more restricted than with narrower vehicles.

Trunk Usability and Flexibility

The combination of relatively large volume and compact exterior length indicates efficient interior space distribution: good cargo volume without oversized exterior dimensions. This facilitates everyday scenarios such as shopping, weekend trips, or transporting strollers and sports equipment.

Limitations: Specific details about the shape of the cargo area, loading opening dimensions, loading height, or partial/full folding of the rear seats are not available. These details determine the actual usability for long or bulky items.

Recommendation: Before purchase, specifically check how long items (e.g., skis, slats, long boxes) can be loaded and whether the rear bench is flexibly foldable.

General Model Information

Familiarity: The name Jaguar I‑PACE (2018) signals a distinctive SUV model from Jaguar. The fact package provides no information on drivetrain, equipment, or prices.

Special features: Notable are the above-average trunk volume and the combination of relatively compact exterior length and comparatively large width.

Characteristics: Wide body (74.8 in) means more interior space but can be disadvantageous in tight parking and urban conditions. Vehicle height is unremarkable.

Price-performance ratio: Not included in the fact package. Generally, an above-average trunk volume relative to vehicle size positively affects usability assessment.

Competitor models: Not explicitly named. Relevant comparison benchmarks are other compact/mid-size SUVs with similar exterior dimensions and cargo volume.
