Trunk dimensions Kia Carens

The Kia Carens 2015 offers a trunk with a volume of about 17.4 cu ft with the rear seats upright. When the seats are folded down, the volume increases to approximately 58.3 cu ft.

The rear seat is split 60:40, allowing flexibility when transporting larger items. The interior design is functional, with a low loading edge that facilitates loading and unloading.

The trunk dimensions vary within the model range, with a rather rectangular shape that optimizes the use of space. Practical details such as tie-down hooks and a variable loading floor are also present. Overall, the Carens provides a good combination of space and practicality for families and active users.

Model Information

The latest series of the Kia Carens is a compact van characterized by its versatility and family-friendliness. With a modern design and comfortable interior, the Carens offers seating for up to seven people.

The equipment includes modern technologies such as an infotainment system, safety features, and good ergonomics. The Kia Carens is known for its reliability and offers a balanced combination of performance and fuel efficiency.

Variants of the Same Series

The Kia Carens is mainly offered as a van and differs from other models in the Kia lineup, such as the Kia Ceed (hatchback) or the Kia Sportage (SUV).

These models have different body styles and target groups, making them attractive to buyers with specific needs. It is important not to confuse the different models, as they offer different characteristics and applications.

Trunk Volume

The trunk of the Kia Carens offers generous volume that can be adjusted depending on the seat configuration. With the rear seats upright, the trunk offers a volume of about 17.4 cu ft, which is sufficient for daily use and family outings.

When the rear seats are folded down, the volume can be expanded up to 62.9 cu ft, opening up a variety of transport options. The trunk opening is wide and allows easy loading, while the flat loading floor facilitates access.

Yearly Differences

The Kia Carens has undergone several model changes over the years that have affected the body dimensions and trunk dimensions.

The current generation was introduced in 2022 and offers improved space utilization and a larger trunk volume compared to earlier models like the 2018 version. Previous models often had smaller dimensions, which directly impacted transport options.

Direct Competition

In the same price class and size, the Kia Carens competes with models like the Volkswagen Touran and the Ford S-Max. The Volkswagen Touran offers a trunk volume of about 29.6 cu ft with seats upright, making it superior in this regard.

The Ford S-Max, on the other hand, has a similar volume to the Carens, but transport options vary depending on the configuration. Buyers should consider the trunk volumes of competing models to make the best choice for their needs.

More Affordable Alternatives

More affordable alternatives to the Kia Carens with similar trunk dimensions include models like the Dacia Lodgy and the Citroën Berlingo. The Dacia Lodgy offers a trunk volume of up to 29.2 cu ft, while the Citroën Berlingo provides up to 53 cu ft in the maximum configuration.

These models are often cheaper to purchase and still offer good transport capacity, making them attractive options for buyers with limited budgets.
