Trunk dimensions Kia Optima Wagon

The 2019 Kia Optima Sportswagon offers a trunk volume of approximately 19.5 cu ft, which can be expanded up to 59.5 cu ft by folding down the rear seats.

The rear bench is split 60:40, allowing flexibility when transporting larger items. The interior is well designed, with a low loading edge that facilitates loading and unloading.

The trunk dimensions vary within the model range, with the Sportswagon featuring a practical shape that promotes efficient use of space. Typical characteristics include high build quality and thoughtful interior design, providing both functionality and comfort.

Model Information

The Kia Optima Sportswagon is a wagon distinguished by its elegant design and practical functionality. The latest series offers a combination of comfort, state-of-the-art technology, and appealing driving dynamics.

With a focus on safety and efficiency, the Optima Sportswagon is suitable for both families and commuters. Features include advanced infotainment systems, driver assistance systems, and a high-quality interior.

Variants of the Same Series

The Kia Optima is available in various versions, including sedan and wagon. While the sedan appears sportier and more compact, the Sportswagon offers more space and flexibility.

It is important not to confuse these variants, as they target different audiences. The sedan is more suited for city driving, whereas the wagon impresses with its larger trunk and versatile cargo options.

Trunk Volume

The trunk of the Kia Optima Sportswagon offers a generous volume of about 19.5 cu ft, making it an excellent choice for transporting luggage and other items.

When the rear seats are folded down, the volume can be expanded up to 59.5 cu ft, providing additional flexibility for larger cargo. The trunk opening is wide and low, which makes loading easier. Additionally, practical storage compartments support the organization of smaller items.

Yearly Differences

Model changes of the Kia Optima affecting body and trunk dimensions mainly occurred between the 2016 and 2020 model years. During this period, the design was revised, resulting in a slight increase in trunk space.

The interior layout was also optimized to offer more storage and comfort. The latest generation, introduced in 2021, continued these improvements without significantly changing the basic dimensions.

Direct Competitors

In the same price range and size, the Kia Optima Sportswagon competes with models like the Skoda Octavia Combi and the Ford Focus Turnier. The Skoda Octavia Combi offers a trunk volume of about 22.6 cu ft, making it superior in this regard.

The Ford Focus Turnier, on the other hand, has a trunk volume of approximately 20.3 cu ft. These differences can be decisive for buyers who place special emphasis on cargo space.

More Affordable Alternatives

More affordable alternatives with similar trunk dimensions include the Dacia Logan MCV and the Hyundai i30 wagon. The Dacia Logan MCV offers a trunk volume of about 20.2 cu ft, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers.

The Hyundai i30 wagon has a volume of about 21.3 cu ft. Both models provide a good combination of price-performance ratio and functionality but often have less extensive equipment and available technologies compared to the Kia Optima Sportswagon.
