Trunk dimensions Kia Optima

The trunk of the 2009 Kia Magentis sedan offers a volume of about 15.9 cu ft, which can be expanded to around 35.3 cu ft with the rear seats folded down. The rear bench is split 60:40, providing flexibility for transporting larger items.

The interior is functionally designed, with a low loading edge that makes loading and unloading easier. The trunk dimensions vary within the model range, but the shape remains consistently rectangular, optimizing usability.

Typical features include good accessibility and a thoughtful layout that supports practical use of the cargo space.

Model Information

The Kia Magentis is a mid-size vehicle that was first introduced in 2000. The latest series offers a modern design, improved safety features, and a variety of technologies that enhance driving comfort.

The Magentis is known for its reliability and good value for money. The sedan is the main version of the model and targets buyers who value an elegant appearance and practical use.

Variants of the Same Series

The Kia Magentis is mainly offered as a sedan. There are no significant variants such as convertible or wagon within this model series that could potentially cause confusion. The sedan is the only body style known under the Magentis name, simplifying the choice for buyers.

Trunk Volume

The trunk of the Kia Magentis offers generous volume that is sufficient for most everyday transport needs. The trunk volume is about 17.7 cu ft, making it a practical choice for families and commuters.

The loading area is easily accessible, and the rear seats can be folded down to create additional cargo space. This allows for transporting larger items, making the Magentis versatile.

Yearly Differences

Over the years, there have been several model changes that affected the body and trunk dimensions of the Kia Magentis.

The most significant changes occurred in 2005 and 2010, when the design was revised and the dimensions adjusted. These updates led to a slightly larger trunk and improved aerodynamic properties that optimized fuel consumption.

Direct Competition

In the same price class and size, the Kia Magentis competes with models like the Hyundai Sonata and Toyota Camry.

The Hyundai Sonata offers a trunk volume of about 15.9 cu ft, while the Toyota Camry provides slightly less space at about 17.4 cu ft compared to the Magentis. These differences can be decisive for buyers who place particular value on cargo space.

More Affordable Alternatives

For buyers looking for more affordable alternatives with similar trunk dimensions, models like the Dacia Logan and Skoda Rapid are worth mentioning.

The Dacia Logan offers a trunk volume of about 18 cu ft, while the Skoda Rapid is around 19.4 cu ft. These vehicles are often cheaper to purchase while still offering comparable transport capabilities.
