Trunk dimensions MG Marvel R

The MG Marvel R 2023 offers a trunk with a volume of about 16.9 cu ft, which can be expanded up to 49.4 cu ft by folding down the rear seats.

The rear bench is split 60:40, allowing flexibility when transporting luggage. The interior design is modern and functional, with a low loading edge that facilitates loading and unloading.

The trunk dimensions vary within the model range, with a focus on practicality and generous space. Typical features include a rectangular shape that supports efficient use of space, as well as practical storage compartments inside.

Model Information

The MG Marvel R is a modern SUV characterized by its futuristic design and innovative technologies. It combines sporty elegance with practical features suitable for urban daily use and longer trips.

The Marvel R offers electric drive technology that is both environmentally friendly and powerful. With a focus on comfort and safety, this model is designed to meet the needs of a broad target audience.

Variants of the Same Series

The MG Marvel R is offered as an SUV and differs significantly from other models of the brand, such as sedans or wagons. Currently, there are no other variants of the Marvel R within the same series. Buyers should ensure that the model designation clearly indicates the SUV to avoid confusion with other MG models.

Yearly Differences

The MG Marvel R was introduced in 2021, and since then there have been no significant model changes affecting body or trunk dimensions. Future model years may see adjustments affecting the design or functionality of the trunk. However, current information on planned changes is not available.

Direct Competition

In the same price range and size category, models like the Hyundai Kona Electric and Kia e-Niro are found. The Hyundai Kona Electric offers a trunk volume of about 12.7 cu ft, while the Kia e-Niro provides around 15.9 cu ft.

The MG Marvel R thus has an advantage in trunk volume compared to these competitors, making it an attractive option for buyers who value cargo space.

More Affordable Alternatives

More affordable models with similar trunk dimensions include the Dacia Duster and Skoda Kamiq. The Dacia Duster offers a trunk volume of about 16.9 cu ft, positioning it close to the Marvel R.

The Skoda Kamiq, on the other hand, has a trunk volume of around 14.1 cu ft. These alternatives are generally less expensive but may not offer the same technological features and comfort as the MG Marvel R.

Trunk Volume

The trunk of the MG Marvel R SUV 2021 has a stated volume of 17.9 cu ft. This corresponds to a volume approximately 20.71% larger than that of an average car. Relative to the total vehicle volume (L×W×H/2), the trunk accounts for about 7% — 0.6 percentage points more than average.

Everyday implications:

With 17.9 cu ft, you have enough space for several large travel bags or a family's weekly grocery shopping (typically: 2–3 large suitcases or 4–6 shopping bags).
The above-average volume facilitates holiday trips and transporting bulky everyday items.
Because the trunk share of the vehicle volume is slightly above average, this indicates efficient interior space utilization and good luggage accommodation.

Vehicle Size and Parking Friendliness

The vehicle's exterior dimensions are 183.9 in length, 75.6 in width, and 63.4 in height.

Compared to an average car, the MG Marvel R is:

4.3 in longer (+2.5%)
2.8 in wider (+3.7%)
2 in taller (+3.1%)

Compared to the size of a typical parking space, it is 13 in shorter and 22.8 in narrower, thus smaller than a typical parking spot.

Everyday implications:

The slightly larger width can make maneuvering and passing parked vehicles more challenging in narrow streets or garages.
However, since the vehicle is significantly smaller than a standard parking space, it fits into standard spots with sufficient clearance — entering and exiting remains comfortable.
The increased height improves visibility and ease of entry/exit but may be relevant in tight underground garages with low clearances.

Trunk Usability and Flexibility

The relatively large trunk volume and the 7% share of total volume indicate good usability of the cargo space. Specific details on loading floor height, tailgate opening width, variable loading floors, or foldability of the rear seats are not provided in the fact package.

Practical consequences:

Good everyday suitability for shopping, strollers, and sports equipment.
If additional storage space is needed (e.g., for furniture transport), folding down the rear seats likely provides more loading capacity — exact capacities are not specified.
Lack of information on loading edge, pass-through function, or split rear seats limits assessment of flexibility; testing with actual cargo is recommended.

General Model Information

Familiarity: The vehicle is listed as the MG Marvel R SUV (model year 2021). The available facts do not include information on drivetrain, trim levels, or market launch success.

Special features / characteristics:

Above-average trunk volume relative to total vehicle volume is a clear advantage.
The exterior dimensions are slightly above average, especially in width, which can enhance interior space feel but should be considered when maneuvering.

Value for money: Without price or equipment data, a solid evaluation is not possible. However, the above-average trunk volume is a positive point for everyday usability.

Competitor models: Competitors are other compact/mid-size SUVs offering similar exterior dimensions and trunk volumes (around 450–19.4 cu ft). More detailed model comparisons require information on equipment, drivetrain, and price.
