Trunk dimensions MG MG3

The trunk of the MG MG3 2024 offers a volume of about 10.1 cu ft, which can be expanded to approximately 42.4 cu ft by folding down the rear seats. The rear bench is split 60:40, allowing flexibility when transporting larger items. The interior design is functional, with a low loading edge that makes loading easier.

The trunk dimensions vary within the model range, with the shape mostly rectangular, optimizing the use of the storage space. Typical features include a practical arrangement of compartments and good accessibility, which simplify everyday use.

Model Information

The MG MG3 is a compact subcompact car characterized by a modern design and a variety of equipment features. It was first introduced in 2013 and has since established itself as a popular choice in the city.

The MG3 offers a combination of functionality, comfort, and an attractive price-performance ratio. With a powerful engine and agile handling, it is ideal for urban use.

Variants of the Same Series

The MG3 is mainly offered as a hatchback. There are no other variants such as sedan or convertible within this model series that could potentially cause confusion. The focus is clearly on the hatchback design, which combines practical aspects with a sporty appearance.

Trunk Volume

The trunk of the MG3 offers a volume of about 10.1 cu ft, which is considered competitive for a subcompact car in this class. The rear seats can be folded down to expand the cargo space and transport larger items.

This makes the MG3 a practical choice for everyday transport, whether for shopping or leisure activities. The trunk opening is also generously designed, facilitating loading.

Yearly Differences

Since its introduction, the MG3 has undergone several facelifts and updates that have affected the body dimensions and trunk.

The most significant changes occurred in the 2016 and 2020 model years, when the design was modernized and the interior layout optimized. These changes also led to a slight adjustment of the trunk volume, with a focus on improving functionality.

Direct Competition

In the same price range and size, the MG3 competes with models like the Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Polo. The Ford Fiesta offers a trunk volume of about 10.3 cu ft, while the Volkswagen Polo boasts about 12.4 cu ft.

These differences show that the MG3 slightly lags behind its competitors in terms of trunk volume but still represents a practical solution for city drivers.

More Affordable Alternatives

There are some more affordable models that have similar trunk dimensions to the MG3. These include the Dacia Sandero and Kia Picanto. The Dacia Sandero offers a trunk volume of about 11.6 cu ft, making it an attractive alternative.

The Kia Picanto, on the other hand, has a smaller volume of about 9 cu ft, making it less suitable for larger transports. These alternatives offer different advantages that can vary depending on the individual needs of buyers.
