Trunk dimensions MINI MINI Roadster

The Mini Roadster 2012 offers a trunk with a volume of about 8.5 cu ft, which can be expanded up to 24 cu ft by folding down the rear seats.

The rear bench in the convertible model is not split, which limits the flexibility of the cargo capacity. The interior is sportily designed, focusing on driving pleasure and style, but the trunk can be perceived as limited.

The trunk dimensions vary slightly within the model range, with the shape mostly compact and the loading edge relatively high. Practicality is given, but the possibilities are limited by the convertible design.

Typical features are the sporty lines and the high-quality interior, making the Mini Roadster an attractive, though not particularly spacious, vehicle.

Model Information

The Mini Roadster is a sporty convertible characterized by its compact design and agile driving dynamics. The latest series combines classic Mini elements with modern technologies and an appealing interior.

The Roadster offers a unique driving experience suitable for both city driving and longer trips. The engine range extends from efficient gasoline engines to powerful variants that ensure dynamic driving behavior.

Variants of the Same Series

Within the Mini lineup, there are various models that differ in their body style. These include the Mini Cooper as a sedan, the Mini Clubman as a wagon, and the Mini Countryman as an SUV.

These models offer different space conditions and usage options that potential buyers should consider to avoid confusion. The Mini Roadster stands out with its two-seat convertible design, aimed at sporty driving.

Trunk Volume

The trunk of the Mini Roadster is relatively compact with a volume of about 8.5 cu ft, which is typical for a convertible in this class. The shape of the trunk is designed to allow optimal use of the available space.

The rear seats are not present, which maximizes the trunk for luggage and other cargo. Additionally, there is a pass-through function that allows transporting longer items by folding down the rear wall.

Yearly Differences

The Mini Roadster was produced from 2012 to 2015, during which no significant changes were made to the body dimensions or trunk volume.

The 2014 model update mainly brought technical updates and design adjustments, but the basic trunk dimensions remained unchanged. Buyers should be aware that the differences between model years are minimal, which simplifies the decision for a used model.

Direct Competitors

In the same price class and size, models like the Audi TT Roadster and Mazda MX-5 can be found. The Audi TT offers a trunk volume of about 9.9 cu ft, making it superior to the Mini Roadster in this regard.

The Mazda MX-5, on the other hand, has a trunk volume of about 4.6 cu ft, making it less practical for transporting luggage. These differences in trunk size can be decisive depending on the individual needs of buyers.

More Affordable Alternatives

For buyers looking for a similar trunk size as the Mini Roadster but with a smaller budget, models like the Fiat 124 Spider or the Peugeot 208 Cabrio could be considered. The Fiat 124 Spider offers a trunk volume of about 4.9 cu ft, while the Peugeot 208 Cabrio provides about 7.1 cu ft of space.

These models are generally more affordable and still offer an appealing convertible experience, even if they do not quite match the Mini Roadster in equipment and performance.
