Trunk dimensions Nissan Versa Note

The Nissan Note 2014 offers a trunk with a volume of about 15.4 cu ft with the rear seats upright and up to 53 cu ft with the seats folded down. The rear seat is split 60:40, allowing flexibility in transport. The interior is functionally designed, with a low loading edge that makes loading and unloading easier.

The trunk dimensions vary slightly within the model range, with a rather rectangular shape that optimizes the use of space. Practicality is supported by additional storage compartments and high variability of the rear seats.

Model Information

The Nissan Note is a compact small car known for its versatility and efficiency. The latest series of the Note offers a modern design, advanced technologies, and a comfortable interior.

With a focus on city driving and everyday usability, the Note is a popular choice for buyers seeking a practical vehicle. The latest generation features improved fuel efficiency and environmentally friendly drive technologies, including hybrid options.

Variants of the Same Series

The Nissan Note is mainly offered as a hatchback. There are no sedan or convertible variants of the Note, so buyers should ensure they choose the correct model.

However, the hatchback variant offers various trim levels with different comfort and technology features, making it important to compare the specific features of each model.

Yearly Differences

Model changes of the Nissan Note affecting body and trunk dimensions mainly occurred between the 2013 and 2020 generations. The first generation (2005-2012) had a smaller trunk volume of about 11.7 cu ft.

With the introduction of the second generation in 2013, the trunk was significantly enlarged. The last facelift in 2020 brought further optimizations regarding interior design and trunk functionality.

Direct Competition

In the same price class and size, the Nissan Note competes with models like the Ford Fiesta, Volkswagen Polo, and Opel Corsa. The Ford Fiesta offers a trunk volume of about 10.3 cu ft, while the Volkswagen Polo offers about 12.4 cu ft.

The Opel Corsa has a volume of around 10.9 cu ft. In comparison, the Nissan Note with 14.9 cu ft has a clear advantage in trunk space, making it a more attractive option for buyers needing ample cargo space.

More Affordable Alternatives

More affordable alternatives with similar trunk dimensions include the Dacia Sandero and the Skoda Fabia. The Dacia Sandero offers a trunk volume of about 11.6 cu ft, while the Skoda Fabia offers about 13.4 cu ft.

Both models are generally cheaper than the Nissan Note but offer less cargo space, which can be a decisive factor for buyers valuing large trunk volume.

Trunk Volume

The trunk of the Nissan Note (2013) holds approximately 11.5 cu ft (manufacturer specification). This volume is about 22.62% smaller than an average car. Relative to the total vehicle volume (LxWxH/2), the trunk accounts for about 6.1%, which is only slightly (-0.4 percentage points) below average.

Everyday impact: 11.5 cu ft are sufficient for daily shopping, shopping carts, or a small travel bag, but are limited when transporting multiple large suitcases, a stroller, or bulky items. For longer vacations with luggage or frequent transport of large loads, the cargo space is rather tight.

Vehicle Size and Parking Friendliness

The exterior dimensions are 161.4 in length, 66.9 in width, and 60.2 in height. Compared to an average car, the Note is 18.1 in shorter (-10.1%), 6.3 in narrower (-8.4%), and 1.2 in lower (-2.2%). Compared to a standard parking space, the Note is 35.4 in shorter and 31.9 in narrower.

Everyday impact: The compact dimensions make the Note very parking- and maneuvering-friendly in the city: parking and maneuvering in tight parking spots or narrow downtown areas is easier. However, the reduced width can somewhat limit the feeling of space inside.

Trunk Usability and Flexibility

With 11.5 cu ft, the trunk offers a practical base capacity for everyday use but remains well below average. The ratio to vehicle volume is nearly average, indicating that the cargo space matches the vehicle’s compact overall concept.

Everyday impact: For typical use—shopping, sports bags, school backpacks, or a weekend bag—the usability is good.

For larger transport tasks (multiple suitcases, bulky furniture pieces, frequent transport of long items), limitations are expected; additional measures (dynamic packing, use of a roof rack, or more frequent loading/unloading) are necessary.

General Model Information

Familiarity: The Nissan Note (small car, 2013) is known as a compact, practical city car candidate. Its strengths lie in everyday usability and urban suitability.

Special features & characteristics: Notable are the compact exterior dimensions combined with a functional, though not oversized, trunk. The vehicle is designed for easy handling in the city.

Price-performance ratio: Depending on equipment, condition, and market, the Note can be an attractive offer for buyers primarily seeking drivability and low operating costs in the city. Those needing a lot of cargo volume should consider alternatives.

Competitor models: Typical competitors in this class are models like VW Polo, Ford Fiesta, Opel Corsa, or Renault Clio, i.e., other small cars with similar orientation.
