Trunk dimensions Subaru Legacy

The trunk of the 2009 Subaru Legacy sedan offers a volume of about 14.3 cu ft. With the rear seat folded down, which is split in a 60:40 ratio, the cargo space increases significantly, although exact values may vary. The interior design is functional, with a low loading edge that makes loading and unloading easier.

The rear seat folds down easily, increasing flexibility when transporting larger items. There are differences in trunk dimensions within the model range and model years, but the practical shape of the trunk remains consistent.

Typical features include good accessibility and a thoughtful layout that makes the trunk usable for everyday purposes.

Model Information

The Subaru Legacy is a mid-size sedan known for its reliability and versatility. The latest series of the Legacy offers a combination of modern design, advanced technology, and a comfortable interior.

The sedan is equipped with all-wheel drive, making it particularly suitable for various weather conditions. Additionally, the Legacy offers a variety of safety and assistance systems that make driving safer and more enjoyable.

Variants of the Same Series

The Subaru Legacy is mainly offered as a sedan. However, there are other models in the Subaru lineup, such as the Subaru Outback, which is considered a wagon.

These models differ in body style and offered features. It is important not to confuse the different variants, as they target different customer groups and have different characteristics.

Trunk Volume

The trunk of the Subaru Legacy offers a generous volume of about 15 cu ft. This allows for a variety of transport options, whether for luggage, shopping, or sports equipment.

The rear seats can be folded down to create additional space for larger items. Access to the trunk is easy thanks to the large tailgate, which facilitates loading.

Yearly Differences

Changes to the body and trunk dimensions of the Subaru Legacy were made in various model years. In particular, the generations introduced from 2015 brought significant adjustments in size and design. These changes can affect the trunk volume, as the new models often offer improved space utilization.

Direct Competition

In the same price class and size, the Subaru Legacy competes with models like the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry. The Honda Accord offers a trunk volume of about 16.7 cu ft, while the Toyota Camry comes with about 15.1 cu ft. These differences can be decisive for buyers who value maximum cargo space.

More Affordable Alternatives

For buyers looking for more affordable alternatives with similar trunk dimensions, models like the Hyundai Elantra or the Kia Forte might be interesting.

These vehicles offer a trunk volume of about 14.2 cu ft, which is smaller than the Legacy but still sufficient for everyday use. These models are often cheaper to purchase and still offer solid equipment.
