Trunk dimensions Volkswagen Eos

The trunk of the 2011 Volkswagen Eos offers a volume of about 13.4 cu ft with the rear seats upright and up to 26.5 cu ft with the rear seats folded down.

The rear seat is split 50:50, allowing flexibility when transporting larger items. The interior design is functional, with a low loading edge that makes loading and unloading easier.

The trunk dimensions vary within the model range, but the shape remains mostly rectangular, optimizing usability.

Practicality is supported by the ability to fold down the rear seats and the thoughtful arrangement of tie-down hooks and storage compartments. Overall, the Eos offers a balanced combination of style and functionality in the trunk.

Model Information

The VW Eos is a compact convertible that was first introduced in 2006 and produced until 2015. It combines the features of an open vehicle with the advantages of a coupe. The Eos is characterized by a retractable hardtop that can be opened or closed in seconds.

The design offers both a sporty driving experience and a certain level of comfort for passengers. The lineup ranges from basic models to sportier variants with more powerful engines and more extensive technology.

Variants of the Same Series

The VW Eos is designed as a convertible and has no direct variants like sedan or wagon within the same model series.

However, there are other VW models with similar characteristics, such as the VW Golf or VW Passat, which are available in various body styles. These models should not be confused with the Eos, as they target different audiences and usage scenarios.

Trunk Volume

The trunk of the VW Eos offers a volume of about 13.4 cu ft when the roof is closed. This is relatively generous for a convertible of this size. With the roof open, the trunk volume reduces to about 7.2 cu ft, which is still sufficient for carrying luggage or shopping but provides less space than when closed.

The trunk opening is also well-sized, facilitating loading. The rear seats are foldable, creating additional transport options, especially for longer items.

Yearly Differences

Over the production years, there were some model changes affecting the body dimensions and thus the trunk dimensions. However, the basic dimensions remained largely constant.

The most significant changes occurred between 2006 and 2015, with minor adjustments in equipment and technology. These changes did not have a significant impact on trunk size.

Direct Competition

In the same price range and size, there are several comparable models, such as the Audi A3 Cabriolet and the BMW 2 Series Convertible. The Audi A3 Cabriolet offers a trunk volume of about 12 cu ft, which is slightly less than the Eos.

The BMW 2 Series Convertible has a trunk volume of around 9.9 cu ft, making it even more compact compared to the Eos. These differences in trunk volume can be decisive for buyers who value storage space.

More Affordable Alternatives

There are also more affordable alternatives with similar trunk dimensions, such as the Ford Focus Convertible or the Peugeot 308 CC. The Ford Focus Convertible offers a trunk volume of about 17.7 cu ft, making it an attractive option.

The Peugeot 308 CC has a trunk volume of about 12.3 cu ft. These models are often cheaper to purchase but offer similar transport capabilities as the VW Eos.
