Trunk dimensions Volkswagen ID.7 Wagon

The Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer 2024 offers a generous trunk with a volume of about 17.7 cu ft, expandable up to 60 cu ft when the rear seats are folded down.

The rear bench is split 60:40, allowing flexibility when transporting luggage. The interior is designed with a modern look, focusing clearly on functionality and user-friendliness.

The trunk dimensions vary slightly within the model range, but the shape remains consistently rectangular, which facilitates loading. The loading edge is low, making access to the trunk practical. Typical features include high build quality and well-thought-out storage spaces that make everyday life easier.

Model Information

The VW ID.7 Tourer is the latest model in Volkswagen's fully electric ID series. As a wagon, it offers a combination of spacious interior and state-of-the-art electric mobility.

The ID.7 Tourer stands out with its futuristic design, innovative technologies, and a high range suitable for daily use and longer trips. With a focus on sustainability and efficiency, the ID.7 Tourer is a step toward environmentally friendly mobility.

Variants of the Same Series

The ID series includes several models, such as the ID.3, ID.4, and ID.5. While the ID.3 is designed as a compact hatchback, the ID.4 offers more space and a higher seating position as an SUV.

The ID.5, on the other hand, is a coupe-like variant of the ID.4. The ID.7 Tourer distinguishes itself with its wagon form, designed for maximum functionality and cargo space. It is important to note these differences to select the right model for individual needs.

Trunk Volume

The trunk of the VW ID.7 Tourer offers a generous volume of about 23 cu ft, making it one of the most spacious in its class. The rear seats can be folded down, further increasing transport options and providing a maximum cargo space of up to 63.6 cu ft.

The trunk opening is wide and low, facilitating loading and unloading. Additionally, practical storage compartments and tie-down hooks are available to secure luggage safely.

Model Year Differences

The VW ID.7 Tourer was introduced in 2023. Previously, there were no direct predecessors in Volkswagen's fully electric wagon segment.

Therefore, significant changes in body dimensions and trunk measurements before 2023 are not relevant. Future model years could, however, bring adjustments in size or design that might affect the trunk's functionality.

Direct Competition

In the same price range and size, the VW ID.7 Tourer competes with models like the Tesla Model 3 and the Ford Mustang Mach-E. The Tesla Model 3 offers a trunk volume of about 15 cu ft, which is significantly less than the ID.7 Tourer.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E, on the other hand, has a trunk volume of around 14.2 cu ft. These differences show that the ID.7 Tourer has a clear advantage in terms of cargo space.

More Affordable Alternatives

More affordable alternatives with similar trunk dimensions include the Skoda Enyaq iV and the Kia EV6. The Skoda Enyaq iV offers a trunk volume of about 20.7 cu ft, while the Kia EV6 comes to about 17.3 cu ft.

Both models are less expensive than the ID.7 Tourer but offer less cargo space, which can be a decisive factor for buyers who value space.
